  1. We hadn't a hope. . .

From one of the 'Biggles' books

  2. 'A' - I'm an Armourer

     A traditional Air Force song

We hadn't a hope . . .

My batman awoke me from my bed,
I'd had a thick night and I'd got a sore head,
So I said to myself,
To myself I said,
I haven't got a hope in the morning.

So I went to the shed to examine my gun,
And then my engine I tried to run,
But it coughed and it spluttered
And it would not run,
So I hadn't got a hope in the morning.

We were escorting twenty-two.
Hadn't got a notion of what to do,
So we shot down a SPAD,
And an SE, too.
For we hadn't got a hope in the morning.

'A' - I'm an Armourer

To the tune of 'A' - You're adorable

'A' - I'm an armourer,
'B' - I'm an armourer,
'C' - I'm an armourer too!
