This page comprises links to downloads of video footage from actual No.VI Sqdn. OCU missions, and detailed reports from events and missions. In the case of the films, alongside each link is a note of what software is required to view the film (watchout for those numerous Hornet 3.0 version numbers!) and a short synopsis of what to look out for. Video films

  • Heart Stopping. Hornet 2.01, STRiKE Korea missions, Macintosh. A daring hit on NKAF MiGs which are harassing a tank division. Full report available.
  • Tanked Up and Ready to Go. Hornet 2.01, STRiKE Korea missions, Macintosh. So Johnny takes out the baddie boats, the Flankers and a SAM site. He heads east to service. It gets interesting when he finds a Bear, intercepts and is in the process of escorting it to a friendly base when it changes course and flies at a bridge. Realizing that it has dropped ordnance, Johnny fires on it. The stricken Bear is going down, and just for fun, Johnny fires a Mav at it. The Bear bellies out and the crew get out and start firing small arms, so Johnny strafes until the fuel explodes.
  • Mad Bear. Hornet 2.01, STRiKE Korea missions, Macintosh. This replay was captured from the flight recording equipment of a downed Tupolev Tu-20 Bear long-range bomber. The pilot has diplayed extraordinary courage and tenacity in evading countless missiles and in dog-fighting with USAF F-16 Falcons.
  • Flying Lessons, Please?. Hornet 3.0.0, GSC Kuwait missions, Macintosh. Pilot Officer John Doe, a new pilot with the squadron, is filmed attempting to land a Grumman E-2C Hawkeye on the deck of the USS Enterprise. He fails and diverts to Safwan airbase, where he makes a very hairy crash-landing. The USAF were unhappy about the damage to the sophisticated electronics on board the Hawkeye following this incident.
  • Cuban 8 Carrier landing. Hornet 2.01, GSC Kuwait missions, Macintosh. One of our pilots scared the living daylights out of an LSO on the USS Enterprise, stationed in Hawaii. This has to be the hardest of all landing maneuvres
  • Underground SAM site. Hornet 2.01, GSC Kuwait missions, Macintosh. Cmdr. Frank Drebin encountered an anomaly in the Iraqi air defences of the famous "supergun": a SAM site embedded inside a mountain. Drebin took some time to work out what was going on.
