Patch Notes

The Hexedit document Red Lager 1.0 is a replacement for the Red Glare mission, #13 in the Kuwait Theatre, F/A-18 Hornet 2.01. Open a copy of your data file with Hexedit (or similar) and find the beginning of the original Red Glare mission. At around hex address 661EC0 (this varies depending on the version of data file you have; it may be at 6603E0) you will see 00 01 02 03 E8. This is where we have defined the beginning of the code for mission #13. The first object in the original mission is the FA18 at line 662060 (or 660580). Switch to decimal addressing and check the address of the 00 in the 00 01 02 03 E8 sequence. This lies at 6692551 (6685674) in our data files.

Launch Jim Redcay's Hackout utility, and follow the instructions for inserting data. You are now ready to play Red Lager!

During the night, following heavy fighting, men of 22 Sqn Special Air Service Regiment secured a village inside the Iraqi border north of your position and set up a forward OP. Their commander reports enemy armour approaching at speed from the east and north. Civilian evacuation will be effected by three CH-47 Chinooks, which will return with reinforcements. A column of M1 tanks is making its way north to the village. Two F16s are on CAP in the area.

Your mission is to defend the OP against land and air attack. Your primary target is two BT60 troop carriers. Secondly, ensure the safe return of the Chinooks. Your wingman will ingress with you, and 2 F16s are on CAP in the area. They have orders to eliminate any airborne threat. A/A defences are expected to be minimal.
