Bio |
Once described as 'CS Lewis on acid,' I have fifteen years' research experience in industrial and academic laboratories, in Oxford, Cambridge and Sydney. I once specialized in how the structure of biological macro-molecules determines their cellular function, but now I take a broader view, writing about all areas of biology for The Scientist magazine. I can be frequently found dodging flak in the No Man's Land between science and art, taking photographs and writing short fiction and poetry. I harbour a secret desire to make internationally acclaimed scientific films. From November 20111 I have been at Remedica. |

Blogs |
I keep a weblog at Occam's Typewriter, an independent blogging network I designed and built (more). The 'Life of a Lab Rat' weblog was one of the most widely read and popular at the University of Sydney. I also have a more personal blog. |
|
Writing |
I have published short fiction twice in the Futures series in Nature and I also write for Chemistry World. My other short fiction and poetry is published at LabLit.com, under the pseudonym rpg: I am also LabLit.com's Fiction and Poetry editor. I am writing my first (and second) novels. |
