Snow Fun

21:43 One advantage of the snow is that I walked to work today (Wednesday). My pedestrian route takes me over fields and past a tiny, tiny bit of woodland. I took my camera with me, and decided to take a photo of the lane I was walking along (there are some seriously good blackberries along there in summer, by the way. No, I'm not telling you where it is). As I put the camera down I saw Mr Fox take a few steps onto the lane, and stop, turn and look right at me. I looked at him, and he decided that he really didn't want to cross but would be better off in the trees. I didn't have the foresight to lift the camera again, and in fact it would have probably spoiled the moment; but you can just make him out here - the faint blob maybe a hundred yards up on the right.

BBFrance?

18:46 So those nice people at Barebones have released version 7.1.2 of the Best Text Editor in the World, Eva! and everything is suitably shiny! and relatively non-sucky (AHS,ASS, natch). And for once in my life I decide to review the release notes, which I'm glad I did because I came across this gem of a bug fix:

•Fixed a bug in which trying to Command-drag a window behind a moveable modal dialog would result in the dragged window moving to France.

Avenge the Vengeance

10:33 Seven million. Come on; what is Lottery money for, after all? The Owner, an honorable man from the United Kingdom has the best intentions in trying to preserve the vessel for the people of his country, but has allowed offers to be presented to him to ensure that the vessel is not lost forever. . . There are many people involved in the effort to save this historical Icon.

Across, not down

10:30 If gongs - honorary or otherwise - are not to become utterly worthless in the eyes of the peepuhl, then please, Ma'am, cut across. [He] could show his commitment to the UK economy by returning some of the billions he has looted from it

Anarchy in the UK

15:58 Finally. A site that allows anonymous logins to all those sites (109 to date) that require registration.

Belgnot

15:55 I disagree; Belgium does exist, but it's the most boring place on Earth. Or Mars.

15:50 So shut up, already!

Marsvellous

15:44 John and I don't always read from the same script, but we see eye to starry eye over Spirit: During all the other problems you have today, remember this: we threw a robot car onto the next planet over, and we're driving the damn thing around by remote control.

Wizard

12:47 An old, but interesting collection of miscellanea. Links to why Marilyn is wrong, and other bits and bobs, including a net diagnostic.

Spaced #2

12:45 Oh man. I pray it's not an election gimmick, but it has to be done. We have to go to Mars.

Spaced

09:48 So Hitchhikers' wasn't quite right, 2001 was about right, Farscape not quite, and Total Recall dead wrong.

Holiday spot

09:10 Quiet, sandy beaches; no mobile signal; exclusive location. Bit far to the shops, though, and I'd like to see some mountains before I die.
