SUV = sucker
10:44 This piece sums up my feelings about SUVs and driving in general. Yes, little Johnny is safer in a sportscar, given a halfway competent driver. Now, to persuade Kate that I need that MGTF. . .

It's not you, it's me
15:12 Spam is shabby. But the real shabbiness is the effect it has on us, the victims.

Left field
14:25 Who'd ha' thunk it? A middle way, at long last. It's nice, sometimes, to realize you're not the only one thinking along a particular line, especially when that line makes you somewhat unpopular in certain circles.

Looking up
15:15 Snowdrops, crocuses, and little girls being thrilled to see their daddy when he's cycling to work. Oh, and an accepted paper.

Lego - you're hurting me
19:15 Lego™, pop culture references galore, an incredibly rubber face and mindstormingly bad punes or plays on words. I can't believe I haven't come across the Irregular Webcomic! before. It's created by a crazy Aussie (isn't that redundant? - Ed.) who happens to be quite a smart guy - at least, he links to erudite websites, which on the interweb equates to the same thing - and a master of the truly terrible pun. If you haven't seen it, why are you still reading this?.

Shakey shakey quake
10:45 Obviously not in the same league as the Indonesian quake, but Britain has its share, too.

You spin me right round baby
09:33 I've not had time to look at all of this, but I'd recommend number 10. Fun with gyroscopes, from one of the Christmas lectures before they got H&Sed out.

Rugger Buggers
11:43 Has the entire country gone mad? Don't answer that. I went to Kingsholm last Sunday with Rob to see Gloucester get stomped on by Leicester Tigers - 'ray! Was a good game, especially the first half, and although Tigers weren't playing their best their defence was rock-solid in the second half when Gloucester were really trying to get back into the game, and I never before appreciated how devastating that rolling maul of theirs is. The sight of Gloucester forwards being thrown off the maul like sparks from a grindstone is a memory that will remain cherished.
Back to the rhetorical question. My sister is going on detachment to PenguinLand in March, and I thought it would be a nice birthday treat to take her to a Tigers match before she goes.
Not a fecking chance. Completely sold out. Home and away. Bah.
